National Informatics Centre, Pathanamthitta District Unit came into functioning from the year 1988. NIC Unit is assisting and coordinating district administration since after its establishment. It is providing network and e-governance support to States/UTs,Central Government departments, and District administrations in the country.
Officers
District Informatics Officer, Shri Gigi George and Scientist 'C', Smt.Alice Andrews Kottiry are the representatives of NIC.
Training:
Basic concepts of computers, training on concerned software packages, Open Office 2.0l, e-mail and Internet are being given to staff of Government Departments.
Facilities :
Video Conferencing facility linking all the district HQs within the state, Secretariat, Public Office Tvpm, AG Office Tvpm and Kerala House Delhi is established within NIC for effective communication.
Network Operating Centre linking the taluks and villages within the district under the Project State Wide Area Network (SWAN) is being setup within NIC by C-DAC.
